In their own time

Magda’s wisdom on this one really says it all.

We are in such a rush for the child to be at the next step, to be ready to roll, crawl, sit, walk…..

Milestones….Percentiles….Coffee group comparisons…Developmental “norms”

The weight of these expectations is a heavy weight for small shoulders to carry. So lets simplify this.

Do you look around you in the supermarket and wonder when people began to walk? How old was that guy when he first sat up? Could she count to 20 on her first day at primary school?

Babies are created with their own unique and individual blueprint for development. It seems a little too simple to be true, but when we allow the child to unfold, in every way, according to their own readiness, we can relax and be truly amazed.
